The Finance Systems Business Analyst supports the development, implementation, and optimization of financial systems and ERP applications. This role focuses on refining requirements, validating financial data, and assisting with testing activities to ensure solutions align with business needs.
The position works closely with Finance leadership, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver clearly defined, testable, and high-value system enhancements. This role also includes hands-on analysis of ERP functionality, financial data, and integrations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements & Story Refinement
- Partner with stakeholders to define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature requirements for financial systems
- Translate high-level concepts into detailed, testable specifications
- Maintain documentation including process flows, user journeys, validation rules, and system requirements
- Analyze ERP modules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Fixed Assets (FA)
- Document system integrations and data flow between ERP platforms and third-party tools (e.G., expense management, treasury, planning systems)
- Support evaluation and implementation of complementary financial applications
- Ensure solutions meet financial controls, audit, and compliance requirements
- Use SQL or similar tools to analyze financial data and validate system behavior
- Identify trends, discrepancies, or anomalies impacting workflows and reporting
- Investigate data issues and support troubleshooting across systems and configurations
- Ensure data integrity across integrated platforms and assist with reconciliations
- Collaborate with QA teams to define and execute test cases aligned with requirements
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), including scenario development and feedback collection
- Validate system changes, perform regression testing, and support compliance efforts (e.G., SOX)
- Test integrations and APIs to ensure accurate data flow between systems
- Act as a liaison between Finance, Accounting, and technical teams
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, grooming, and demos
- Ensure feature traceability from design through delivery and validation
- Coordinate with external vendors on system implementations and enhancements
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in business analysis, systems implementation, or related roles with financial system exposure
- 2+ years of experience working with ERP platforms (e.G., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday, Sage Intacct)
- Experience with ERP integrations and third-party applications preferred
- Industry experience in healthcare or similar regulated environments is a plus
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation
- Knowledge of ERP architecture, financial modules, and integration methods (APIs, middleware, EDI)
- Familiarity with Agile SDLC processes
- Understanding of financial controls and compliance frameworks (e.G., SOX) preferred
- Experience creating UI mockups or functional designs is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Capability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

- Primarily office-based or remote work environment
- Extended periods of sitting and computer use
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required
